Match Play rules apply at all times. Please consult your RCGA Rules of Golf booklet.

Subs may be used as long as they have an established handicap with Golf Canada.

A new handicapping system was introduced in January 2020. To make sure that your scores are being entered correctly for your handicap, please enter your gross score hole-by-hole. The system will make the adjustments for you automatically. The new system is very different from the ESC format.

The Dunes Golf & Winter Club has agreed to let members of the Match Play League book tee times two days in advance. Please make sure you have the names of all players to provide to the Pro Shop staff. This privilege is for Ladies’ Match Play tee times only.

If it looks as if you may be rained out, mutually agree before the match begins on how to finish the game. Please give special consideration to those players who pay green fees. You may decide to play in the rain, play remainder of game at a future date, reschedule the entire match, or call the game after “x” number of holes. A minimum of 9 holes is required.

Playing Partners
The league has agreed that partners can continue to play as a team for as long as they would like to participate.

Subs

Scoring
Win: 2 points
Tie: 1 point
Loss: 0 (zero) points
Matches not played 0 (zero) points
Team who forfeits a match 0 (zero) points. Opposing team receives 2 points.

If another team has approached you more than twice, please accommodate a match on the third date. If a team doesn’t show up for a match, they forfeit or concede that match. Team that concedes will receive 0 points and their opponent will receive 2 points.

All matches are to be played by September 15, 2026. Playoffs would need to be completed by Sunday, Sep 27, 2026. Teams should make every effort to complete half of their matches before the end of June. July and August are holiday months and it will be harder to contact other players.
